Simon Moorhouse Announced as new District Commissioner

Simon Moorhouse has agreed to take on the role of District Commissioner for Burnley & Pendle following an appointment process.

Here is a quick message from Simon;

I’d like to start by saying I feel privileged to be appointed as DC for Burnley & Pendle…It feels like coming home, as the majority of my Scouting has been done as a member of Burnley District. For those that don’t know me, here is a brief resume of my Scouting history. As a youth member I went through Cubs, Scouts and Venture Scouts. As an adult volunteer I have just under 19 years total service. In that time I’ve been ASL, SL, DESL, County Nights Away Advisor (CNAA) and Supporter of The Nights Away Permit Scheme (SNAPS). My adult roles have been in Burnley, Warrington East, Burnley (again) and latterly, Clitheroe. As DC, I’m here to support every Leader in the District…if I can help, I will. If I can’t, I’ll find someone that can. I am an active Scouter, who loves to be outdoors: camping, walking, shooting & archery are my passions. If you are going camping, please invite me to join you and if I’m free, I’ll be there. I’ll turn my hand to most jobs on camp and want to be active in supporting you in your Scouting. I want to visit every Section of every Group, but please give me time to get round you all. When I do arrive, the most important thing to remember is that I drink coffee, white, no sugar 😉 .
